woolly woofs

"Longing for a canine companion but short on space and walkies time?"...YUP!  then these knitted doggies could be the answer!  Best in Show by Sally Muir and Jo Osborne contains 25 different patterns to knit your very own pooch.  Both authors will be at the Knit & Stitch show, Alexandra Palace from October 7-10 but in the meantime if you feel like knitting your own Jack Russell the pattern is available here.  I'm definitely gonna have a go.

knitting and gin-ing

it was a lovely sunny day yesterday - perfect to celebrate World Wide Knit in Public Day by taking part in the London Knit Crawl organised by stitch london.  i cycled down to Kensington Gardens and caught up with the ladies (and some men!) sitting on the grass opposite the Royal Albert Hall/beside the Albert Memorial.
after submitting to the knitting i cycled down to Portobello to submit to the gin...celebrating World Gin Day before cycling back home to avoid the World Cup mayhem with England's first match agains the USA...the streets were deserted as everyone's perched in front of the telly!

modelled by me and my mum....

knitted wedding

a fellow knitty friend may possibly maybe be getting married next year (if we can persuade her we need a big celebration to look forward to) and it got me thinking about knitted wedding dresses....and i actually found some not tooooo bad ones....

ok this one's a bit dodgy....unless you love the Amish look

and as for this one....eh...what planet is she getting hitched on???

but along the way, managed to find this lady who knitted her whole wedding...brilliant!
