it appears that
Walthamstow are strong contenders for the Mattressland title....! the
Walthamstow Unofficial Tourist Board created by artist Warpdog have gone global with their very excellent celebrities that look like mattresses - even my Dad sent me a cutting from the Daily Mail - hilarious!

well...they certainly are chock full of mattresses - but Harlesden claimed the title first - just check out albums here:
Mattressland 1 (2008),
Mattressland 2 (2010-) and
Mattressland 3 (2011 - now). but maybe it's time to hand over the crown or perhaps we should request being twinned with Walthamstow! i am spotting fewer and fewer mattresses up this neck of the woods lately....i think Harlesden is ACTUALLY becoming gentrified...only 25 years after moving here and hearing it would happen!! in the meantime i think i'll still keep spotting, posting and producing my annual Mattressland calendar...and here's a few recent ones spotted by me and roving reporter Luke...
