sunny glasgow

straight after my trip to the Cotswolds i was off up to Scotland for a wedding weekend with Noreen.  thankfully the weather in Glasgow was brilliant sunshine.  we had a fantastic time - shopping, fine dining, catching up with friends old and new and the wedding was fab.

Janet and Brynly looked fantastic - Brynly wore a Cornish kilt (and all the tables were cornish towns - i was delighted to be sat at my birthplace, Redruth!).  Janet had asked me to knit a bride and groom chick/cock and i was happy to oblige!

the reception was at the luxurious Mar Hall in stunning surroundings.  we were supposed to stay the night there but got bumped into the equally luxurious 5-star blythswood square in central Glasgow - so we weren't too unhappy. 

the final day we went to the West End for a quick bite and then off to the airport and a flight back to London...just in time for the Notting Hill Carnival madness and mayhem...

Glasgow Wedding

fab time at the wedding in Glasgow - bride and groom gorgeous and loved up, ceremony short and sweet, great company... guests looking hot hot hot - not to mention the fantastic kilt-wearing flying scotsmen - jocks away!

i LOVE this limited edition cocktail dress from Isabella Oliver (also available long)...stunning.  would love to purchase one but its a bit out of my price range.  its very similar to the dress i wore to my friend's wedding in Glasgow a few weeks ago, tho that was grey....ooh would love a black one!

summer wedding

 got the dress, shoes, shrug...and now looking for some long feather earrings and the outfit for my friend's late summer wedding will be sorted. am loving these ones on etsy just not sure if they are a bit TOO much.  also hope the weather holds out...it is in Glasgow!

TODAY I SAW....

before i went on my travels (to the Cotswolds, Glasgow, France, Belgium...phew!) i forgot to mention that i had received one of Jill Wignall's lovely TODAY I SAW postcards!  isn't it just the cutest.  i am curious to find out where the shell house was that she visited....am even wondering if it was the Shell Grotto in Margate as i had a similar experience when i visited earlier in the year...it was closed! hmmm...i suspect it was somewhere in London tho as she is a local girl...must be something about shell houses!  nevertheless...i love the postcard...love the concept...and even entered into the spirit earlier in the year with my own.
