check out my latest Etsy discovery SLC-SLC - a Suffolk based fashion label that uses traditional screen-printing and dying techniques to create stunningly beautiful, eco-friendly collections.  this is what i love about Etsy - i put in a random search and came across SLC-SLC's shop and just fell in love.  i am particularly enamoured of the dresses....but also the scarves...ooh and the lovely lingerie! of course it also helps that the collection has been photographed on wonderful wild beaches (as SLC-SLC says "in the heart of Constable country")....i'm a sucker for a brisk walk on a British beach and i can just see myself in one of these beautiful pieces.

i am absolutely in love with these beautiful kaleidoscopic creations from Brooklyn based designer shabd simon-alexander.  who said tie-dye's just for hippies...this stuff is absolutely gorgeous (spotted via a cup of jo). shabd uses delicate natural fabrics in simple shades....aren't they just perfect for summer....sigh....

i am coveting these sandals and this bag from Plumo...but at those prices i could go on holiday. also i'm not sure if those shoes might make me look like a teacher circa 1970 something....geography or art...my worst fear!

spring fresh looks via bettyjoy - can't wait! it was sunny and bright here in London yesterday and this morning, tho there are more cold spells ahead according to the weather men...but bulbs are popping up, daffs are about to bloom...spring is most definitely in the air....

being a city dweller, i always love seeing the urban foxes in London, it feels like a bit of nature creeping in from the country and taking over...usually while we're all asleep (they make a right racket in my garden in the wee hours!). naturally i have a fondness for anything foxy so am loving this dress by Jill Stuart (Fall 2011) spotted via a beautiful mess.  well, i probably won't be able to get my hands on the gorgeous dress but i have been wearing this cute foxy brooch from etsy on my winter coat lately.

i am loving this animal inspired fashion from camille cortet (spotted via yatzer) tho to my heathen eyes - these collars resemble giant slinkys.  stunning uh.

i have had a serious addiction to vogue and have been buying and saving them for years.  but my loyalty is waivering...mostly because i am disappointed with the appearance of not one, but two gossip-rag poptarts on the cover in the past 6 months.  first it was Cheryl Cole (ugh!) in October 2010 and this morning i see we have Victoria Beckham (gag!) on the February 2011 cover.  what is going on? Vogue you should be ashamed of yourselves.  i do not want to spend a whopping £4 a month to see these ultra-fake semi-slebs on my glossy - they should stick to the cheep and cheerless waiting room fodder if you ask me.  who next? Jordan...Kerry Katona...gawd...Mylene Klass?!!  this is your second warning, three strikes and my allegiance goes elsewhere.

i decided to look back at the very first one that i have, probably not the first i bought but this is when i started saving them, from April 1984.  the shonky old advertisements do make you laugh but the fashion spreads are as amazing and relevant as today's....and back then it was only £1.60 and bigger for your buck!
