i had a bit of a memory-fart today and was transported to an exhibition i went to in the late 90s(?) i think it might have been at the Serpentine....featuring the wonderful Iranian artist Shirin Neshat.
as a photographer and video artist her work deals with the experiences of women in modern Islamic society and i was completely blown away by the beautiful imagery, especially her work with Persian calligraphy.
